Restaurant bewertenFriendly waiters except the male Host which I’ve forgotten his name. Hard to crack a smile from him or maybe he is “selective” depending on high spending guests or you are only a customer from “The Fork”? Order recommended focaccia with separate butter spread and broccolini as side dish to accompany the spatchcock as a main. Both focaccia and broccolini were perfect and tasty. Spatchcock was a little burn and didn’t come with the mustard sauce as prescribed on menu, I requested for mustard sauce hopefully would enhance the taste a little, as I didn’t taste any mustard in the spatchcock at all! Only to be “told” by the host with aggressive facial expression who approached my table saying the mustard sauce was “already” blended with the spatchcock and he can give me “more” mustard if I want! He said that with a snap then he waived at one of the waiters to bring the mustard sauce over as if it was such a hassle. I wonder at which cooking process (it was grilled! did the chef blend the mustard on the meal as I didn’t taste any hence I requested, but I didn’t bother explaining further.
We had the focacia, steak fillet, squid ink linguine and tiramisu. Focacia was a little too dry, steak fillet was tender and cooked medium rare, but too charred at some parts and I can taste the bitterness of the too burnt parts. Linguine is very good and tiramisu is okay. For 50% off, we think its good value, but tbh, wont pay the full price. We find it a tad too expensive. Perhaps of its 30% cheaper, we will frequent it. And we needed to ask for the fork discount, which is always a bummer. Simply put, if a restaurant is reluctant to give the afore promised discount, then dont participate in the fork festival! Though service is good and attentive, this asking for fork discount at the end always put a damper on the entire experience.
We had octopus, squid ink pasta and the scotch filet. All were excellent.
The steaks were really delicious and the highlight of our meals, but can't help but notice all the food was on the salty side including the sides. The service is great and I like how you can see the open-plan kitchen with chefs working away in the middle. The ambience however a bit lacking and this would be better for a business dinner than a date. It's in a slightly awkward spot being on the 1st floor of the hotel and comes off more like a breakfast area for the hotel instead of an actual restaurant. Service was prompt, friendly and unobtrusive.
Lovely and quite very relaxed atmosphere and beautiful music playing meal was delicious
