Restaurant bewertenWhen I'm in medellin, I eat here often! eating is cheap, under 10,000 pesos corresponds to about $5.25 us dollars, everything is made to order and is fresh. there's a downfall. the owner simon owns another restaurant not far from the greasy. spoon, it is a great restaurant and is very busty, and simon is the cook there, so there are days the greasy spoon is closed. I think in the regular Sundays and assembly, and I have seen it closed on Saturday too. I guess everything depends on how busy his other restaurant is. I enjoy eating at the greasy spoon, it is cheap and a taste of home. there are free wlan and speak English.
The opening times are apparently Wednesday Saturday, 9 o'clock 1 o'clock, but do not go when they are positiw, it is open as they are often closed, even within these hours. we did not go until Wednesday morning and found it closed. it is a pain because we were. very far away and not in a hostel in the immediate environment. we went by the day (we were on a tour in a minibus) and noticed that it was open, so I thought we were falling back in. we went there on Saturday morning... and it was closed again. So I can't get to eat, but it's pretty bad not to keep to their opening times, especially when people come from far to eat in their facility.
It was really nice to stumble over this little hole in the wall scrummy breakfast menu from a full English brekkie to just one egg and speck sandwich or fit her own. definitiw one has to feel a hingover or a little homeweh. simon the owner. is so friendly! really nice guy with a special talent for a perfect cup tee. a visit, now!
As a regular traveller, spending long periods away from home, sometimes you need a taste from home. The best tea and bacon sandwich outside of the uk. Absolute excellent value for money, a full english for 4 quid that will leave you satisfied all day....Pete the owner produces almost everything himself, the bacon is homemade, the sauasges are supervised by him at a place out towards envigado. This place is great, catch it where its slightly quiet and Pete will sit with you and share his stories of travelling the world with such passion and humour that you'll never want to leave. This is a little gem that contributes to Medellin's reputation as a place you will never want to leave!
