Restaurant bewertenOne of the nicer fishing and chips in the city. good serving of chips and fishing are well cooked and not too oily.
I was looking for a good Indian restaurant to go and had my usual places, but then told me a friend of punjab sweets restaurant on 8. ave maylands. wow, this place is so fantastic that it is not so fancie, but the eating is so...so delicious, very reasonable byo, which I love and the service is great. in the last two weeks I was there three times with my friends. been after india and other Indian restaurants in perth that is the best. until soon sharon.
We had lunch after dressed) in the punjab sweet curry house and here are our comments: 1- saffron basmati pulao: we have no saffron taste in the rice, so we found it like turmeric rice, flavor and. it was very dry. rate :1 of 5 2-samosa: very average. price : 2.5 out of 5 3 Tandoori chickens: slightly seasoned, not aromatic and very dry. cooked and served all over the place to hack into the smaller pieces, so that marinat could penetrate the meat. Rate: 2 out of 5. 4-Dhal makhani: was ok, not too heavy and creamy. for my palette she needed more taste. price: 2.5 out of 5 5 ldli sambar: was traditionally cooked and its taste was balanced, but not the best idli we tried other places. price: 3 out of 5 6- mango leti: taste was mostly yogurt. it needed more mango to call it mango leti. price: 2 of 5 dishes were served in good amount. ambiente: did not look like a real Indian restaurant. no Indian music, colourless wall, no Indian statue. we felt we had lunch in the garage. total we give 2 out of 5 taking into account quality, quantity, price and ambiente of the restaurants.
I recently met a girlfriend at this little family restaurant in Eigth Avenue. It was a delight, I grabbed a mango Lassi while I waited for my buddy to rock up. Actually I accidentally walked into the little Indian Sweets kitchen part of the...business next door at first and then realised I was supposed to be next door. But got to check out the delicious array of traditional Indian sweets they have and got chatting to the guy there who told me this is the only place in WA that makes their sweets on site. Many other places import from India he advised. They are making fresh sweets daily, and I took a small collection home and they were fantastic just like my travels in India. maybe even better? When my friend arrived we decided to order something light for lunch for lunch and ordered Idli Sambar Idlis are steamed pancake-like patties of rice and very light and with sambar and chutneys a delicious light lunch I also ordered the salad with tandoori panner sliced up on top and all we needed then was a glass of hot masala chai and the meal was complete. Can't wait to get back and try the thali and the Masala Dosas I saw others eating. I love restaurants where you sit a little above the street and can watch the world go past while eating and chatting we sat in the window table and watched the world go by. We were there on a weekday lunch and it was not too busy. The staff are lovely. Great for meat vegetarians and meat eaters alike. I'm also looking forward to trying the desserts Gulab Jamun, Rasmalai and Kulfi homemade icecream) I notice it does deliver up to 5 klm.
This restaurant is now called Punjab Sweets and Curry House. Don't judge the book by its cover. We have order food from this restaurant quite a few times and the quality of their food is exceptionally good. They serve the best Butter Chicken, Dal Makhani...and Rogan Josh in town.
