Restaurant bewertenWe visited this restaurant for Sunday lunch today. No menu, just good local food. WE started with an excellent plate of antipasto, followed by a spicy zuppa di fave. Two primi courses followed, a ravioli with truffles and a very different polenta made from faro. The secondo course consisted of some very tender lamb and veal with a small sausage served with potatoes followed by a salad to clear the palate. A dessert selection and liqueurs followed . All this plus a bottle of wine and water was 50 euro for two. Excellent value and we will certainly visit again.
Entering this agriturismo via a winding path, one arrives at a proper working farm. If one is a bit precious about animal smells, this is probably not the place to go! However, on entering the spotlessly clean dining room, the smells are completely different,: delicious! Every day, the menu changes, and everything is fresh from the farm. The prosciutto is amazing, lovely and dry, served with a type of pizza. The next course is pasta, usually a choice of two, often served side by side, always mouthwatering, and as much as you can eat. Beware, because next up is a meat dish, served with roast potatoes. After this,a lovely ,crunchy salad appears, followed by dessert, which includes an amazing homemade walnut ice cream. The ambience in this restaurant is basic, with glaring lighting, and sometimes a bit chilly. La Solfarola is open for lunch and dinner, always accompanied by homemade wine (wine buffs look away now) ! This restaurant is always busy with locals eating there on a regular basis, and I have eaten there at least a dozen times and never been disappointed in the food
