Restaurant bewertenBig Al's is known for pizza, but their sub sandwiches are even better. Always yummy
This place is a step back in time and reminds me of a pizza and sub shop from when I was a kid. We usually get the regular crust pizza and take it home, but this time we opted for the Motown style thick crust pizza. The crust was crispy and it had a good amount of toppings. Not greasy. Sometimes the thin crust pizza can be too greasy to enjoy the next day. Overall we would recommend this place for anyone looking for a family owned pizza place or sub shop. Picture is of the Motown pizza. Less than $30 for this pizza and 2 large drinks.
We had a small thin crust pizza, salad, and wings (those are sold in 1# orders. it was nuts for a Wednesday night at 7:00 pm, but worth the wait and price. Freaking great food. The two young people working the dining area were friendly and helpful. Other customers were friendly to two strangers like my sister and me. There was one glitch in our order (to our advantage. John, the manager, took care of us and was super friendly. I'd eat here every week if I didn't live 5 hours away.
Amazing! My husband has driven by this place a few times going to jobs in Manistee, and has been wanting to stop there for over a year. Finally, on the drive back from a weekend in TC we decided to stop, and WOW. We got a large thin crust pizza, and an order of bone-in wings, half vindaloo, half Korean BBQ. Holy cow. The pizza was great, the crust was crispy but doughy at the same time, and the wings were juicy and charred to perfection, and the sauces were stellar. We will definitely be back! So pleasantly surprised at this unassuming place, it's a real gem! Highly recommend.
Having grown up in Manistee and now living in Kentucky, Big Al's Pizza is always a must-have while in Manistee and also for the ride back to Kentucky. My family loves the subs, breadstix, and stromboli.
