Restaurant bewertenI'm a tough critic, but last night's meal at Dovetail would have been a stand out in any city large or small. Really good meal. The cheese plate was anything but ordinary. The veggie plate roasted cauliflower, butter braised cabbage, butter beans, butternut squash slaw, kale chips and cornbread fantastic. Chocolate bark for dessert. Daryl says the blackened catfish was also very good. Gold star.
I am so glad there is a farm to table restaurant in Macon. The waiter was amazing and gave us lots of great info regarding the Macon Bakery bread and Georgia Olive oil both of which were yummy. I highly recommend this place. All of our meals were delicious m, including desserts.
First, wow! Great local food with attention to the dining experience. The dinner was stellar and made even better by our server, Maury.
Great food, attentive wait staff (without hovering over us), great atmosphere in a historic building. Kevin, the GM, took the time to talk to us about other restaurants in Macon (we’re new to the area). We enjoyed a complete dining experience. Try the creme brûlée, it was the perfect finish to a great meal. We’ll be back. Soon.
Came in from Texas visiting family that took us to this awesome restaurant. It started with great water, I know it may sound silly to mention the water but it was great! We had the deviled eggs and the put-ups for an appetizer that were both delicious. The bread and the all 4 types of spread had great flavor. The was pimento cheese, hummus, bacon jam, and a cream cheese concoction, all very tasty! I dont usually like hummus or pimento cheese and both of them were great. We had cocktails which were great, nice and strong so you only need one! Main entree, I highly recommend the shrimp and grits! I live near the coast in Texas, right on the gulf of mexico, and this was the best fried shrimp I have ever had! I am usually not a fan of grits so I was a little worried, and they were very rich, but with the delicious shrimp and the roasted corn relish, they were wonderful. My husband had the burger and fries and said it was great. My brothed had the fried quail and said it was delicious. It had a local hot sauce on it that had a great flavor. My sister in laws sea bass, she was not pleases with and was not able to eat part of it, saying it was undercooked. The mene also said asparagas tips and she was not too happy they came out fried. She figured ordering a lighter fish meal you wouldnt get fried sides. We moved on to dessert. We had the fudge brownie a la mode, cracked pie, and sweet potato creme brue lee. The brownie was extremely rich and the ice cream was delicious! The cracked pie was so good and had caramel ice cream which I am usually not a fan of but this was good. (I want the recipe!!! The sweet potato dessert was a little odd. The filling was cold while there were roasted marshmallows on top. If the filling was warm I think it would have been a much better experience. Overall I would come here again anytime I am in from Texas. Delicious food, loved the atmosphere, the food was delicous and the service was pretty good as well!
