Restaurant bewertenBest Haddock burger that I've found yet from Ellsworth to Eastport. Excellent fries. My sample of my wife's burger was also very good. Sometimes slow service and understaffed but after 3 visits over the past 2 years, it's my go-to for a good Haddock burger. IPA's on tap is a definite plus.
From the outside it does not look like much. However, the Thirsty Moose is has a cool vibe inside. There are plenty of pool tables and much adorns the walls whether it be animal heads, guitars or nautical themed items. The bar itself is pretty basic and people are here to drink probably more than consume food. You can find some of the standard offerings like a $2.50 Bud or some more interesting beers like Dads Pants which runs closer to $5. The food offerings are pretty standard for a bar and include burgers which is probably the best bet.
Good food and good people run the restaurant. Two thumbs up
Great selection off beers and foods, excellent service. Had dinner with my family here, me, my wife and two kids (8 and 13). Great service, food was excellent. My eldest son and I had the steak, nothing too fancy but well seasoned and cooked to perfection. The wife and youngest son had the chicken strips platter. The portions were generous and the breading was delicious. The fries are great. I had mashed potatoes with my steak, which were good as well. We'd popped in for a late dinner on a weekday night, but based on the setup with pool tables, music, fully stocked bar, plenty of seating and plenty of beers on tap, I can tell this can be a great stop on a weekend evening too. Very local feel, most people seemed to know everyone and it has a sports bar meets hunting lodge kinda feel. Definitely worth checking out if you find yourself this far downeast.
