Restaurant bewertenMy couple friend and I visited this restaurant on a weekend. The place was busy with families and other couples. We were fortunate to be seated immediately after a group left, otherwise we would have had to wait. There was live acoustic music, and the singer had a lovely voice that was not too loud, allowing for easy conversation. The restaurant is located in an exclusive subdivision outside of town, but is easily visible once you enter the gate. It is connected to the owner's house, hence the name suggesting a backyard setting. They serve American-style food with generous portions that are great for sharing. We tried the ribs, which were so tender you could eat them without a knife - truly delicious. The Java rice was perfectly cooked, not sticky like some other versions I've had. The wings were also perfect for sharing. We also tried the blue cheese pasta, which was recommended by our server, but if you're not a fan of blue cheese, I wouldn't recommend it. The shrimp pasta and carbonara, however, were excellent choices according to our friends. While this restaurant may be a bit pricey compared to others in Lucban, it is a great place to celebrate special occasions like birthdays. The billiards table has been removed to make space for more dining seats. Overall, it's not a place you would go to every weekend, but it's definitely worth a visit for a change of scenery.
The restaurant has a wonderful atmosphere. When we visited on a weekday, there were only a few of us and another group, so we had plenty of space to ourselves. The food was delicious and reminded me of being back in the US. The only downside was that the nachos were not as good as I have had elsewhere. However, there is always room for improvement.
The dining experience at this restaurant is overall good. They have live music every weekend which adds to the ambiance. The owner's mother is very accommodating and even gave us some extra dessert and a discount since she was our former neighbor. The menus and food presentation are of world-class quality. The taste of the food is good, however, it can be a bit salty at times. Located on the outskirts of Lucban, it is recommended to hire a Tuk-tuk or tricycle in advance for transportation. I have visited this restaurant twice and will definitely recommend it to friends and colleagues. I will be coming back for more in the future.
