Restaurant bewertenThe fried chicken is great. the garnel sandwiches are accepted. the cat is unbelievable and the black laces are excellent. but the best is the buttermilk cake. it melts in your mouth and there is nothing quite similar. on the bottom are the burger and hot left definitiw not cajun. they are not even tasteful. the rubber bears and jambalaya also miss the high brand for the true new orleans taste, but do they tease the string. it is a bit expensive for the scenic atmosphere and the food proportions, but well worth the occasional tasty when they know what their taste buds are satisfied!
This is a unique restaurant in the south (sometimes say Cajun, but I don't) style cooking. There is a little hole in the wall type of space and decor is not present. The waitresses were there forever it seems and don't worry too much about the service. BUT, the chicken is fresh and hot and pretty good, but a little cooked a little dark for me. Their speciality for dessert is buttermilk cake and cobbler. Both overpriced. At least I can say that I tried buttermilk cake – it was strange.
I came with some friends to one of my birthday parties on recommendation of my friend steven, the host. as a SGV native, the other valley is completely strange to me. I was very excited to try this Cajun square with my friends from the valley. les sisters is known for her fried huh. but I'm not really a fried chicken arta girl. No, I wanted to fried or cry. so I ordered the fried cats and hush weep with a lot of joy. I was better. it was good, but I'm driving the back to bfe chatsworth. I don't know how to cook kajun, but I think everything in the seasons. he just had no kick. I have actually tried it with hot sauce, various hot sauces, and mixed it with the tartaric acid sauce and fresh lemons. but it just did nothing for me. I tried a good oil sweetheart for the first time. hmm, I'm a through and through California girl and prefer only good ole unsweet icestee with a disc a lemon in it. the sweet tee was just too much for me. after that I needed a glass or two water. his times as I wished that 5 C’s louisiana seafood in covina was still open – I found her on the long beach bayou festively last summer and fortunately to eat there not twice before being closed in the juli / august ’09. my friends ordered other items in the menu. they seemed to enjoy their eating. I didn't really ask for details because they were all freaked out that I'm constantly making photos of everything. So I had to be cold. we split a peach fucker with a hit vanilla ice cream and it was just that. it did not taste fresh. I'm patiering on the back to vent the whole way to chatsworth! I thought I had sunk from the edge of the earth, but I finally made it too la safe.
The fried chicken is great. The shrimp sandwiches are assume. The catfish is incredible and the pork chops are excellent. But the very, very best is the buttermilk pie. It melts in your mouth and there is nothing quite like it. On the down side, the burgers and hot links definitely aren’t Cajun. They’re not even flavorful. The gumbo and jambalaya also miss the high mark for true New Orleans taste, but do tease the tongue. It’s a bit pricey for the quaint atmosphere and the food portions, but well worth the occasional treat once you know what satisfies your taste buds!
