Restaurant bewertenWe went to Lucille 's on a weekday afternoon past the lunchtime rush. Place was uncrowded, so our service was fairly quick. Didn 't have to wait for much of anything. Nice interior and ambience to fit the southern delta blues bbq theme artwork on the east wall of various blues musicians. On the wall next to the restroom corridor are guitars signed by legendary blues musicians BB King, John Lee Hooker, and Bo Diddley. To start off we received a basket of three biscuits with apple butter. When it comes to the bread game Lucille 's no doubt has everyone else beat! Most places just give you a loaf of bread that is either halfway sliced or unsliced, served with those individually wrapped butter mini bricks that are difficult to spread because of their cold stiff solid state. Lucille 's ones up that with actual buttermilk biscuits served with soft sweet apple butter. These are easily addictive, and had the biscuit supply been kept replenished can subject you to a state of Can 't eat the main course because I got full from the bread syndrome. The only downside was the biscuits were not soft and warm, so they didn 't carry that fresh from the oven quality. We ordered from the lunch menu. My wife got the Pulled Pork for $12. I got the Three Meat combo for $22, selecting the slicked brisket, tri tip, and bbq chicken. For the side my wife ordered Mixed Vegetables and I ordered the Garlic Mashed Potatoes. Unfortunately when the food arrived both plates had Mixed Veggies for the side. I didn 't make a fuss about this mix up since it was only the side dish, and at the time thought it might 've been better to just go along with the healthier option. Looking back I 'm not sure if I made the right decision here. For meat I would declare that Lucille 's strength is their Pulled Pork, followed by the BBQ Chicken. Pulled pork was tender, flavorful, and when coupled with the Memphis BBQ Sauce provides that experience which tells you this is what Southern BBQ is all about! The BBQ Chicken slides right off the bone. Without a doubt the Pulled Pork will definately be my go to in future visits. As far as the other meats go...not so much. The sliced brisket and tri tip were cooked well, but didn 't have any natural flavors within it that would jump out at you and make you take notice. I poured some Spicy BBQ Sauce on it which made things better, but this is more of a credit to Lucille 's BBQ Sauce which can even make a school cafeteria 's attempt at a McChicken knockoff taste spectacular.Overall the lunch here did not leave much of a lasting impression. Somehow I felt something was lacking. At a $22 price point for the 3 Meat BBQ Combo they could 've thrown in another side that would 've rounded things out for the better. Had they been accurate and give me Garlic Mashed Potatoes that would 've been an improvement as well (Not to knock the Veggies, those were prepared well. But to be honest when compared to other side options Veggies carry a limited potential for greatness, or in other words a 'low ceiling ')Although I wasn 't impressed on this go around I 'll most likely come back. Over time I 've compiled a bunch of their gift cards from past birthdays, Xmas, anniversaries. I remember still seeing $100 worth of Lucille gift cards selling at Costco for $80. Next time I 'll go with a pulled pork entree or sandwich, or a burger, and top that off with a dessert.
Ok let me start with the positive!Great location BTW I ordered to go)The aroma from the restaurant is amazing! The staff was mmm niceAnd.....And......Now to the needs improvement..I ordered 1 pound of rib tips 1 pounds of beef brisket 2 sides of green1 side of potatoes saladThe rib tips were awful! It looked like nothing but fat! Like they took the scrapping off several plates and put it in a to go box. I tossed it. Uneatable...The brisket was dry.. like it was sitting under a heat lamp...neither meats came with any sauce. The sides were decent but it was hard to enjoy with no meatUgh.... The only thing consistent about this location is the disappointment as it's so close to my house.. I tried to make this relationship work but I'm done...we're just not a fit!The Carson location has always been really good! If I crave Lucille's I will have to make the drive
Delicious food excellent customer service attention to details great variety delicious and refreshing drinks l súper recomend you'll Love it...
I enjoy ordering from Lucille's but honestly their menu is very hit and miss. Yesterday I ordered their Gumbo. This was not gumbo. Gumbo has a particular taste that comes from okra or sassafras (okra literally translates to Gumbo). Without at least one of these two things this is literally not Gumbo. This is a well seasoned roux based stew, not Gumbo. I feel like I wasted my money even trying this out. Because it is simply not Gumbo. Also the biscuits are way too dry. The beef ribs and potato salad are superb.
Great service attention to the client delicious food
