Restaurant bewertenProbably not for all, but if they are in 1930s music with the pariser caffe vibe, they will probably never go. oh, and they are a big fan of django reinhardt with live music most nights.
Two stages in a beautiful, rustic and cosy U shaped establishment tucked away on old Battersea High St. host nightly music events featuring Europe 's gypsy jazz artists. Charming and upbeat with oustanding home cooked menu. The bar takes up a large centre space within the house. The back garden area is charming. The place is the best night out you can have in the area.
Wonderfully quaint cosy with great music service and okay food It’s a very cool pub with amazing decor and ambience. The gypsy jazz live music is absolutely fantastic. The cocktails and drinks are great. The food is rustic French but to be honest, a bit of a let down. The baked Camembert was okay let down by very average bread that a bit stale. The tartiflette main was also nice but a bit bland. The creme brûlée dessert was stone cold. Overall we paid about £80 per person which seemed like a lot for what we had. Well worth the visit, perhaps pick something else from the menu and watch how much you’re spending!
Reviewed April 2021 when indoor dining is not yet allowed. Back garden is very lovely. Food is good, a few selections but not too diverse. Lovely cocktails though. Wine might be tiny bit overpriced but just normal for London. Will be back for live music band from May.
Unique, fun, interesting alternative night in South London! Had a fab band on and the food is great... dessert too. A must visit if you haven't been before. Best to book in advance... good for family and date night. Charming find.
