Restaurant bewertenBeautiful round room at the top of the castle. The waiter was brilliant. Eat great. Wine pairing really good. €220 for 2 people for 7 course tasting menu with wine! I don't like bananas so they changed my dessert without any vapours!
Many good things about this place. Location is great or not so great depending on how you see it, it‘s cool because it‘s located inside of a castle but I hated the walk up there (we did not come by car). Service was super friendly and helpful. We had the 7 course menu and even though the degree of deliciousness varies from one menu to another (they were all delicious but only 2-3 were mindblowingly amazing), everything was so well made and unique tasting. They also added 2 complimentary appetizers and 3 complimentary dessert so in total it was more like 12 different menus albeit these complimentary ones being much smaller. After finishing the meal you‘d definitely be full even though the portion of each menu itself is quite small. Overall a great experience worth a Michelin star. Only thing we didn‘t like was that they charged extra 5€ per person as some kind of tax so do take that into consideration.
Just finished a wonderful dinner at Strelec at Ljubljana Castle. Our second Michelin star experience of the trip after Hisa Franko earlier this month. Don't ask what all this is... Just delicious, paired with beautiful wines and outstanding service. Beautiful sgraffito murals told stories of Slovenian folk heroes. The setting in Ljubljana Castle is stunning, as are the views!
Came here to celebrate a friend's birthday and want something special, exactly what we have. The surroundings, on the castle in the Archerturm, felt enchanting with a view over Ljubljana. We went for the 5-course menu (although a few amuse-bouche courses ended without additional costs), which consisted of inventive dishes with unique but very complementary flavors. The venison main was delicious tender and a highlight for me was the onion gnocchi in beer foam. Everything nicely prepared, with efficient and friendly service. The cook even came by to wish my friend a happy birthday that was a nice touch. We paid €125 (inc tip) each, which I considered to be quite good value for a Michelin star, especially given the location and that we really enjoyed delicious and filling food with wine pairings for each course.
The food was so good that I could cry. The height of the details in the taste is exceptional. They do not offer la carte dishes, but you can choose from 5-9 courses. They are also flexible in terms of food restrictions and have vegetarian options. Strelec is indeed one of the best (if not the best) high-end food restaurants in Slovenia.
