Julius Sturgis Pretzel Bakery - Lititz

The soft pretzel, their signature dish, was only as good as a grocery store buy. They also insisted the soft sourdough pretzel is not on their menu and never has been, though their site advertises as such. One of our few disappointments in wonderful Lititz.

Learned how to make a pretzel and the history. You can't eat the one you made, but fresh ones are available to purchase.

Enjoyed the tour. Giving a talk on the way pretzels would have been made in his time.

Julius Sturgis Pretzel Bakery is great! They offer tours of the pretzel bakery that are very educational! The tour guide will teach you how to twist a soft pretzel and will tell you about the history of pretzel making as well as show you how the bakery used to operate and what they used to make their pretzels! They also make very good soft pretzels! I would recommend!

Absolutely a must do!!! the first commercial pretzel bakery in America. Schedule a tour online and then pay for the tour when you arrive. can’t believe how cheap the tickets are, 3 and under are free, ages 4-12 are $4.50, ages 13 are $5.50, and military and seniors are $5.00. they teach you how to twist a pretzel, get to see the equipment and the ovens, and they give you a small bag of pretzels for free when the tour is finished. when you exit the tour there is a gift shop, they have fresh soft pretzels to buy (they make them there), they were so good so I would highly suggest buying!! can’t believe how cheap everything is in PA LOL this would be like $25 in NJ
