Restaurant bewertenCrazy busy when I stopped in a Sunday after the church, my social fear overwhelmed when I saw the word vegan so often on menu boards and handwritten markers in the pastry case! Of course, I had to splash and try the infamous [Vegan] Voltaire Brownie . (It was not disappointed. Her vegan breakfast Burrito was a bit bland, but I liked it had black beans in addition to to tofu. Finally and above all, this coffee shop offers both my favorite vegetable milk for coffee and espresso drinks. Most places have almond, coconut, soy OR oats; The Coffee House has soya and oats!
This little gem of a coffee house is located in downtown Lincoln. I’ve lived in Lincoln my whole life and found out about the deliciousness they call cromlettes a couple of years ago. If you haven’t tried them you’re truly missing out. I placed an order this morning with Hope who gave exceptional customer service and was able to hold back cromlettes for family who was anxious to try them. This will be their new breakfast shop when in town! With so many different coffees and lattes it’s a tough choice but never a bad choice. Highly recommend! I gave a rating of 5 stars but truly it’s a visit deserving of more than 5. Thank you! I’ll definitely be back!
I visited this place today and had a lovely coffee, and a generally lovely experience. They have a wide range of choices; I chose a light-roast drip coffee which was great, and also got a taste of a slow-drip (like cold brew) light-roast which was truly delicious. The others in my party all enjoyed their various types of lattes. Highly recommended and I 'll make a point of going here whenever I come through Lincoln.
I’m on the road often and love trying coffee shops I had the mocha Voltaire with lavender syrup. Best coffee I’ve ever had. Caiya’s customer service brightened my day! Lover her so much. I’ll be back!
I often visit the coffee house, at least once or twice a week during my work day. I love the drinks and the food. But after my visit today, i’m not sure if I will be coming back. There is a gentleman that sits outside of the establishment. He is a war veteran and is an extremely pleasant person to speak with. There are many people that do visit the coffee house that enjoy taking a few minutes out of their day to speak with him. Some people may just dismiss him as a “homeless man” but to most other people who regularly visit the coffee house, he is a very nice person to share a few moments with. Now i’m not sure what happened but the owner came inside the establishment talking to a lady saying he can’t do anything about the homeless people outside and he was sorry that they were harassing her. I thought that was strange because with my many interactions with this man, he has never harassed me for money or anything of the sorts. I’m always greeted with a , “have a great morning” , or “how are you doing today?” (not many baristas ask that to customers just saying. I’ve taken many people here too that have also had great interactions with this man. Anyways, I leave the store and I told him I would see him soon, like I normally do. He told me he was feeling upset and I asked him what was wrong, he told me that the owner was being rude to him , his friend , and some lady customer. (The lady the owner was talking to in the store. Turns out the owner was upset about this man sitting in front of his store, saying he was steering away business and making the place look bad. That man has never steered me away but honestly the behavior of the owner made that place look bad. Coincidentally, the lady that was “harassed” came out and the man started to apologize to her saying he was sorry if he made her feel uncomfortable. She said that she never felt any way and didn’t know why the owner was acting that way and saying that stuff. It turns out that the lady and the gentleman have had many meaningful conversations with each other and are on good terms. She never got harassed by that man. The lady left and the owner came out and started taking pictures of the men and saying stuff under his breath. I had to leave at that moment to go back to work, but it made me feel awful after witnessing that. I don’t know if I will be returning if that’s how you want to treat random people, especially homeless people. It would be understandable to be a little frustrated if the man was actually causing issues but every time I go, I ALWAYS see patrons of the coffee house speaking to him and having good conversation. Maybe advocate for the community a little more and have some change of heart.
