Restaurant bewertenAverage busy night. We were quickly seated followed by excellent follow up by waiters. Food served faster than expected. We had fish soup as starter a must taste experience. Followed by beef, we could cut like butter delicious. The sharing dessert was overwhelming. A meal we easily could recommend to others. The environment as the name explain Bryggerikjelleren, very cozy atmosphere. Nice and warm services.
My wife and i were in lillehammer for two days and dined at this restaurant on day two. It’s a lovely looking restaurant inside but ….. We waited for at least five minutes before anyone showed us to our table despite a worker seeing us waiting and a sign which said “ wait to be seated” . In the end we had to go and find somebody to seat us at our pre booked table . The young lady who served us at our table should think about alternative employment as she was not at all service minded or indeed friendly . We ordered two inner fillet steaks both with different levels of cooking and different sauces , “ blue” and medium. Whilst we had ordered drinks we also required water which wasn’t offered so we had to ask for that separately. The steaks were delivered and served to us the wrong way around, the sauces were incorrect to match the steaks and to cap it all my wife had to get up from the table to go to the main area and ask for salt and pepper . The salt and pepper were given to her with no apology for their absence from the table whereas any top class restaurant would deliver them to the table with an apology. !!! In view of the above we declined the offer of seeing the dessert menu or coffee . Would not return .
We had a dish with are broccoli, and the chef didn’t check it before it went to the table. A caterpillar showed up.
I am travelling solo around Norway and one of the issues I have encountered is the availability of tables in restaurants if I just turn up. So I prebooked a table for one here. The restaurant itself is lovely, a very long narrow room in what looks a little like a railway arch from the inside, but is where the beer was stored when the building was a brewery. There was a gorgeous fire at one end, and dark furniture and walls. There is a bar when you walk in with diners also seated at the bar but I was shown to a table. I had found the restaurant in an internet search and it was more extravagant than most of my meals out in Norway but I decided to push the boat out a little. The waitress brought me a menu in English. This was not the same as the menu I had seen on the internet as the one on the internet had offered steaks at different weights starting at 150 g (the smallest on the printed menu was 200g) as well as a range of pizzas, which were absent from the menu I was offered. I requested the 150g steak anyway and it arrived with bearnaise sauce, and vegetables. There was a choice of potatoes, I opted for chips and washed the meal down with a glass of house Shiraz. The food was excellent as was the service and I left feeling very full! With tip, my main course, glass of wine came to 500 NK or about £50.
I wish I could give them 10 stars. The food is absolutely perfect. The menu is limited, because they are clearly a steak restaurant. But they do it absolutely perfectly. The shrimps are tasty with just the right spice. The steak is to die for. I only wish I lived in Norway to come to this restaurant. It’s everything you could ever want.
