Bar And Restaurant Jernet - Lidingoe

The restaurant has recently re-opened under new management. Unfortunately they seem to be having teething problems. The service was not of the same standard as previously and the food was not up to scratch. The new upstairs sports bar does not look inviting. I hope it improves as it used to be a great local restaurant.

We met up with friends, who are Lidingö residents, for an afternoon drink and catch-up here. The vibe was so good, we decided to stay for dinner. Sitting outside catches the late afternoon sun and is a great location. We asked them to turn down the external sound system, which they did instantly, and stayed to enjoy a very good early evening supper. The food was well cooked and presented and service was attentive. Would return here.

This is a great place to go if you want to experience a restaurant outside of Stockholm. On Fridays their Afterwork bar is open on the first floor with comfy sofas and a relaxed atmosphere. There has been a woman work in there for many years who really knows the restaurant trade. I have often wondered if she is in fact the owner. You will need to book at peak times try and get a window seat. It has become one of my favourite restaurants when on business in Stockholm if you want to get away from the Crowd . It costs about SEK 200 with a taxi from central Stockholm well worth it for the experience.

... and still dissapointing. Food is not bad, semi hot, served in a nonchalant manner. This could be a sprawling place if they would only stop trying so hard and just serve food their kitchenstaff can handle. Burgers, chicken, pasta dishes and maybe, just maybe, aim as high as a fish dish. What they need to stop doing is overcharging for lukewarm sirloin with reheated potatoes and a ready bought sauce. Summarizing: location great, interior/atmosphere great, food dissapointing, extremely overpriced and lukewarm.
