Eat good, nice ambience. would be even better with corresponding music

We couldn't eat at the restaurant due to the menu on opentable not being correct and one of the people not being able to eat what was on the Sunday one. The opentable website needs updating!

I have eaten in many restaurants of various claims to quality in many countries. I did not expect a fine dining experience with this restaurant. I expected merely what was advertised. I was very disappointed however and will not be going back. We arrived for our booked table (for 2 on time; we were left waiting to be shown to our table for at least 5 minutes without anyone bothering to come over to us. I sought someone out and we were eventually seated (once a table was cleared . I had to call the waiter back to take our coats. We were asked if we wanted water and after saying 'yes ' the waiter practically ran from the table without asking if we wanted anything else to drink. I managed to get his attention and ask for a glass of champagne. He quickly left from the table before asking my wife if she wanted a drink. The champagne came 25 mins later (no exaggeration . We were then asked again if we wanted water, as it had not materialised. That eventually came (one glass each . We ordered our starter, main and wine. After another 20 mins we were told that the main was not available. The wine came. It was warm and was in a metal holder that itself was not chilled. The wine was delicious; but should have been colder. The waiter brought some ice (after about 10 minutes . The starters were nice. The main came 1 hour and 30 minutes after we arrived. They forgot the sides and therefore we had to wait another 5 minutes for them. By the time they arrived the pot of sauce for the meal was cold and had to replaced. We were only given one glass of water (no jug! and were never asked about a refill or whether we would like some more wine. I had to order my dessert twice for some reason (from different servers , with a 10 minute interval between. The dessert was delicious. I would like to have that again. But the service was absolutely laughable. I would not be surprised if the two members of staff that I dealt with were on their very first day of work. AVOID.

A pleasant and peaceful environment to have a quiet meal in a wonderful hotel near Leeds city centre. The waiter (Lucy) was very attentive and helpful, as well as other employees. Excellent choice on the menu with some unusual dishes. The food was served hot. Appropriate price as a whole. Would return.
