Restaurant l'Ocean

We visited the grill for lunch, according to the many recommended we have seen online. the food was well cooked and steak nicely, served with small pots of dipping sauce, Brat-style kartoffels and mini-mais baskets. we felt it was a bit expensive. given the amount of food in total (the portions of meat were small and we expected more sweet on the side). our very young children did not want half the steak from the children's menu and the restaurant were inflexible about any alternatives the only possibility to order an adult part of something else. Overall, we would possibly return if we were close, but would feed our children to another place!

Great food and great service. very friendly staff and a beautiful courtyard dining area. next time we visit the ile de re, we will come back.

We ate in restaurant after a recommendation. eating was nice, especially the main dish fish dishes. we ate on the internal terrace as the restaurant was fully booked, but I am glad that we did it because it was not cold and there was enough heating. to keep us warm. the only negatiw was at the end of the evening. we asked for our bill and paid a generous tipp. However, some of the waiting employees were not aware that we had paid and planned to block our exits that felt very unpleasant.

Very good restaurant. Refined cooking, presentation and service. A place to go for sure in a nice old building , decorated «  à la rétaise « !
