Captain D's - Lawrenceville

I used to eat here all the time. I love their catfish, rice and broccoli dish. Their hush puppies are delicious too. The wait time is my only con. I would send my husband here and he would wait 15 minutes.

Customer service is just terrible! I try to order, and the young lady who took my order from the drive had the most beautiful attitude, and I thought McDonald?s was bad, but no. I didn't even want my food after that, I just ran away because who knows what they would be? This isn't the first time, but this time I'm here last time. If you hate your job, there are many other companies to rent!!!

Stopd from this place at 9:36 on a Saturday due to the closing time indicated 11:00. At least 4-5 employees dressed if no longer sit in the dining area and all the lights were there. We took this as a sign that they are definitely open. Pulls up to the drive thru and NO RESPONSE, what SO EVER!!!!! This is totally unacceptable, who pays that many ppl sit on the watch. Sure are the forces that don't allow it. Everyone is desperate for employees and yet they pay them to do absolutely nothing!!! Can I take care of you for a second? ll end up with the same end result NO SERVICE TO THE CUSTOMER!!!!!!

This was my first visit to this particular Captain D?s while the service was quick and the drive-thru associate was extremely pleasant the quality of the food was lacking. I ordered a number 8 and number a two piece fish and fry. The shrimp were flat and almost dry is maybe the best way to describe it. The fish just tasted warm and the Mac and cheese was horrible it had a brownish tent as if were burnt and just an awful taste. I can?t say if I?ll return because I honestly wasn?t impressed.

Revised 12/1/2021: Today, I had the most horrible Captain D's meal ever. Ordered grilled tilapia. Part way into fish, noticed it didn't cut easily, then saw pink, uncooked fish (tilapia cooks white). Corn on cob was bearly warm and mushy. Baked potato was hot, but not steaming. Restaurant interior is in need of a good cleaning. Had to ask for table to be cleaned. Only one other customer was in restaurant at the time, so not busy. Only 2 employees running the place. Restroom wasn't particularly clean either. Cases of takeout boxes were stacked to ceiling at rear of restaurant. Not the best place for storage. This is an older restaurant, but no excuse for poorly cooked meals and dirty interior. 6 mos. ago: Had 3 piece fish. Fish was nice and crispy. Side items (fries and coleslaw)were skimpy portions, but tasty. This location currently only offers drive-thru.
