Split Rock Golf Course Sunset Green Restaurant Bar

We've played at Split Rock 3 timed 8/2023 it seems everything went downhill. The bunkers weren't raked out some turned into all grass, the fairways were horrible, so much debris you couldn't even tell that it was a fairway. Total waste of money, next gonna try Jack Frost or Mt. Airy.

If I could describe this golf course in one word, it would be: “deplorable”. The tee boxes are 85% dirt (see picture attached) and the sand traps are simply filled with rock. The course doesn’t even provide rakes for the bunkers because there is simply no sand. I’m appalled that course leadership feels it’s morally acceptable to charge hard-working citizens $75 for a 5 hour round here. Save your money just don’t golf for the day if this is a serious consideration. Egregious beyond words.

The course is absolutely stunning, but it was the slowest round of 18 holes I've ever experienced. It took us 3 hours to get to the 9th hole, and we had to wait 25 minutes on some holes with no ranger in sight all day. The back 9 took another 2 hours and 45 minutes. We weren't in a hurry since the scenery was beautiful, but with all the leaves covering the ground, it would be helpful if people understood that you won't find your ball if it's off the fairway. The facilities here are lovely, but unfortunately, the golf course needs better maintenance. I've noticed quite a few remarks about the sand traps, and I can attest that they are in poor shape. The tee boxes are mostly in bad condition, and there’s a substantial amount of clover in the rough. It’s truly disappointing; the course doesn’t offer value for the price you pay to play here. It seems to be priced high, taking advantage of the captive audience of guests staying at the resort.
