Restaurant bewertenThis coffee shop is really cool, I love the plants inside, although I did have to duck to get in because of them, but it's not a big deal. The atmosphere is great, the staff is friendly and helpful. I tried their iced chai and it was delicious. The burnt honey cake was amazing and is now my favorite pastry. They have both indoor and outdoor seating, and it's quiet enough to study. They also serve wine there.
As soon as I walked into the restaurant, one of the staff members pressured me to place an order. Typically, I prefer to take my time before looking at the menu and making a decision, and I have never had an issue with this at other cafes in Lafayette. It appears that the owner prioritizes making money over the satisfaction of their guests, which is simply bad business practice.
In my opinion, Carpe Diem is the top spot in Lafayette for enjoying gelato, coffee, tea, and wine in a delightful setting. The service is exceptional, as are the quality of the pastries. They offer a wide selection of delicious gluten-free cakes and cookies, as well as fresh croissants each morning. Recently, they have added chocolate croissants to the menu, which are a must-try for any viennoiserie enthusiast like myself. If you're feeling hungry, they also offer savory crêpes, croissant sandwiches, and cheese plates, all of which can be paired with a glass of good wine.
Went here after trying the burnt honey cake that my brother bought for my moms birthday. Location: limited parking on the street. There was alot of drainage construction going on when we went. Atmosphere: dim, comfortable, plants, cute signs, andvery nice inside. Smelled like essential oils. Walk up to the counter to order and they will give you items right away or bringto you. Clean dining area and bathrooms. Tables and bar style seating. Inside and outside seating. There were people inside thatworked on their laptops, hung out with friends and enjoyed coffee/snacks. Food: chocolates, Gelato, cake, baked goods, coffee.I 100% recommend the burnt honey cake! It's light and delicious. Unlike any cake I've ever had before. I'm not much of a sweeteater but I could eat this entire cake! My mom also liked the berry Gelato and said it reminded her of a Gelato she had in herchildhood. Prices: not horrible but a little confusing to know how much some things cost. For example, a sign said a piece ofthe burnt honey cake was $8, but I was charged $6.50 $6 feels more fair than $8 to be honest). Service: Very nice and patient.Allowed us to sample the Gelato options. There were only 2-3 workers at the counter when we went, but they handled the guestsvery well. I never felt rushed.
