Restaurant bewertenNot a Mexican restaurant ... international fare, but nothing snooty. Ate here 3 times this trip. Chili stuffed with shrimp first time, fish fillet (Empanizado) the next ... then the Paella. OH. MY. GOSH. Possibly the best seafood casserole stew thing ever. 200 Pesos! Mixed drinks, wine, beer. Good service. Rooftop dining too. Owner feels like family now!
This resteraunt is a true gem. The food offered is amazing. The menu caters to all and has a great selection. I had the pleasure of ordering there chicken cordon blue and it was hand made amazing. It was something I would have expected in a fine French resteraunt. The servers do not speak much English which was a bit of an issue but overall excellent and again 1/2 a block from the malacon. Also offers roof top dining.
Have been in La Penita a little over a month. Passed this place many times but it's sorta out of our way (but just a little) and not a very impressive sign. Decided to go with the reviews of others that have been there. Really glad we did. Chicken Alfredo was perfect for me. Ample meat and noodles were not dripping in the alfredo sauce. Oh, btw, the salad was pretty good too. I normally opt for a soup if available but could only get salad here. I actually ate a little of it (25% or so) which is very unusual for me. Believe all you read here about the owner and everyone else. They are very friendly and perfect english.
I've eaten a few meals here and it's definitely one of my favorites. Not only is it clean with friendly English speaking staff, the food choices are excellent. In March I had fish fried in garlic butter and it was moist and tasty. I hate to admit it but each time I think of taking a photo of the food I'm already dabbling my lips with a napkin. Awesome experience.
A unique menu for this little village. Service was okay, food was delicious. All were extremely satisfied.
