Restaurant bewertenWe spent a few relaxing, get away days in Wakefield, Quebec and dropped in to the Pipolinka Bakery an artisan boulangerie Upon entering the aroma makes your mouth water for the taste of fresh baked bread, pastry We purchased special spelt rye bread, very dense which contained various nuts and seeds. Extremely delicious. We also purchased a few pastry or two Tip: when eating this loaf slice it quite thin as it is dense but very good. Highly recommend
In my opinion this is the best bakery in Wakefield better than it's well known counterpart and we did try both. Great atmosphere, helpful staff, and The Best sticky buns. OMG
We stopped in here for some gluten free treats to go, and were very disappointed in selection of products offered, as well as lack of monitoring any sort of Covid protocol. No limit on people in the storefront, no spacing, and on top of that we were all expected to move out of the way when someone came to replace the floor runners. He definitely didn't care whose face he was in. It made us uncomfortable so we left without purchasing anything. A very different experience from our last visit 3 years ago.
When you arrive in Wakefield, (Quebec province, 30 minutes north of Ottawa), Wakefield is a must stop. Charming boutiques, unique scenes of the Ottawa River, local shops owned by local people, etc... and a well where you can get pure natural water... free of charge!!! And then, Pipolinka: a bakery with a heart, with health in mind, plus the vision of the owners (Philippe and Kalina, thus the name Pipolinka). The numerous pasteries are A , the breads are homemade with care, nothing added but care...Note that during weekends in particular, you will have trouble parking in the back, but the wait is worth it.
Very good bagels and bread! Best be quick as limited quantities are present. Will be back next time in Wakefield!
