Ichiban Japanese Grill - Knoxville

Ichiban is the best restaurant for Hibachi and Sushi, no question about it. The soups are amazing, the hibachi dishes are superb, and the sushi is consistently excellent. Forget about trying any other place – they just can't compete with Ichiban.

I ordered takeout from this restaurant an hour before they closed. Fifteen minutes before closing, there was no lock on the door. I called the restaurant to let them know that we would pick up our own order and not hand it over to anyone. The lady on the phone said that would be fine. Five minutes after arriving, we were told that a DoorDash driver would pick up our food instead. When we got back home, we opened our container to find lukewarm food and no utensils or soy sauce. The sushi we ordered was obviously not fresh. The staff was negligent and when I called to complain, I was shouted at and told it was not their problem. They told me to call DoorDash customer service and hung up on me.

The menu prices are not correct. Even though there is a sign on the door stating that the prices have increased, I thought that the menu would have been updated as well. Unfortunately, this was not the case. We ordered Pad Thai and sushi rolls. The Pad Thai was decent, but the avocado in the sushi rolls was not ripe.

If you're debating whether to visit this restaurant or not, don't hesitate, just go! You won't be disappointed! The atmosphere here is relaxing and positive. I love the decor, it's beautifully designed. The staff is fantastic. My dinner was wonderful, I absolutely enjoyed it. I had come from Johnson City, and decided to eat at this place. Despite being almost 2 hours away from home, in my opinion, this restaurant has the best food compared to what I'm used to in my hometown. The prices were actually much cheaper than I had expected. Great food at a great price? I'll definitely be coming back when I'm in the area again!
