Restaurant bewertenMy kids ordered chicken strips and fries, and I was pleased to see they got three chicken strips instead of the typical two offered at many places. The chicken strips were fantastic! In fact, I enjoyed them more than my Monte Cristo. Everything else we ordered was good—not extraordinary, but decent. The prices were reasonable and affordable. Overall, if you're curious, it's worth a visit!
The pretzels and sauces are incredible, and the steak with ale butter is fantastic as well. Overall, it was an excellent meal, and I visited several times throughout the week.
In the cellar, we ordered filets that were quite tasty, and the handmade steak fries were excellent. However, I think they need to improve their cocktail preparation, as both of our drinks—a martini and a mojito—were not up to par. Aside from that, we truly enjoyed our meal. Unfortunately, our experience upstairs was less satisfactory. We ordered spinach and artichoke dip that arrived burnt, and the hot pretzels we received were barely warm. The dipping sauce was not sufficiently melted and had a hard layer on top. Our waitress seemed indifferent to our missing plates, although she was quite busy with several other tables. I appreciate their efforts, especially considering the hectic atmosphere typical of a college town.
We had really high expectations for our meal, but unfortunately, we were let down on multiple fronts. The service was incredibly slow; we waited over an hour for our entrees. While our waiter was nice and apologized every 15 minutes, it didn’t really change the situation. Then we decided to order dessert, which turned out to be another mistake as we faced yet another long wait. Overall, our dining experience lasted over 2.5 hours, and the food was just mediocre. To make matters worse, management didn’t attempt to address the lengthy wait, and at one point, we even had to get our own utensils for dessert. It was quite disappointing. Just a heads-up for anyone considering this place.
I stopped by for lunch and sat upstairs. I ordered the Caesar Salad. It included iceberg lettuce, very little dressing, a small amount of parmesan cheese, and soft croutons, but the portion size was huge. While there was a lot of food, the quality was disappointing. I was really surprised they would serve something like this.
