Rudders Public House - KITTERY

Homemade chips were really great (and the sauce has a nice kick on it). Had the fried chicken, the Caesars salad with chicken and Clam Chowder. Many good mussels in the chowder, the salad was fresh. Chicken was super fresh (very hot) and very crispy without being burned. Beans were also delicious.

We had the best time. Every employee was so friendly. Service was top notch. We were encouraged to try beer before the time before we order them to make sure we like them. Our food was excellent. My husband had the house pork and fries. The frits were sooo good and we really enjoyed the island of Ketchup. I had the red beet and the Arugula salad. Our cocktails - the painkiller, especially was SO GOOD. I had a grapefruitmule. We're not local, but we'd like to come back.

This place was really cool. Our waitress was super nice. I could only give 5 stars because our food was over cooked and it seemed to take a while and a tad expensive. But overall it was good. Or drinks were really good.

What kind of find was that for us? A super friendly neighborhood pub with great food, friendly and helpful staff and lively atmosphere. Located in Wallingford Square area, next to the Marine Yard, it is an area easy walk and business. Parking can be a bit difficult at peak times, but there are both on-street and parking available. Call ahead to plan your meal time and enjoy!!!

This is a wonderful local pub with friendly staff, good food, and good drinks. They are always upgrading the restaurant inside and out to ensure peak comfort for guests and staff. They support the community by hosting events and giving proceeds from sales to various community causes. And they are a frequent sponsor for submarines that come to Kittery for long overhauls at the local shipyard. It is extremely rare to find such a gem in this day and age.
