Restaurant bewertenThis evening from compos for fishing and muddy heaps, everything was perfect and will be back in the final!
Not sure what happened to this place, fish and chips were only average.
Well firstly it's a FnC restaurant, so the fish and chips themselves were fantastic, among the best I've tasted in living memory. The restaurant was very light and airy and is quite modern with nicely spaced tables, and many windows to best present the views and scenery of Holmfirth, the chippy is well located. Our waitress Lottie was very welcoming and friendly and gave good advice on menu options, plus had good local knowledge.
Terrible fish and chips. Chips were very bitty and the fish unpleasant. Do not recommend at all. Parking good with seats outside
The restaurant seems to have new ownership and has declined in quality. It used to be very good with reasonable prices, but now it is much too expensive. I ordered Jackson's steak pudding with chips, mushy peas, and gravy for £13.50, dry bread for £1.00, tea for £2.80, and coffee for £3.00, making the total for my lunch £17.30. The steak pudding was good, but it seems to be store-bought rather than homemade. The chips were like cardboard and unappetizing. The prices are ridiculously high, and I will not be returning to eat there. I recommend avoiding this restaurant and not wasting your money. Two local pubs near me offer a two-course light lunch for only £11.
