Blacksheep - Kingston

Super friendly staff and reliable great tasting coffee! They also have a kids play area out the back. All in all, an awesome little cafe!

Great coffee and food with a lovely courtyard with playhouse for the kids. Worth the detour just to let the small ones play with other kids while you sit back and relax!

Obviously the neighborhood is being gentrified so this cafe is well placed to cash in on it but unfortunately it's not up to scratch. The cafe is freezing cold which makes it really uncomfortable. The staff are friendly but seem inexperienced and too casual. When a customer has to leave the table and come to you to order more drinks/food that is an alarm bell there is something wrong with your service. Additionally, the blonde lady was fluffing around and talking on her mobile phone during service. Food was mediocre. This place has so much potential so hopefully they will lift their game.

I sooooo want this place to do well and maybe it is making it's mark at breakfast but not so at dinner. I tried to book the night we went but could not find a phone number listed anywhere including a face book page). We took a risk turning up but there was no need to worry as we were the only people in the restaurant. The waiter was friendly very friendly) and the food was quite good but I am still not sure why our meals came out in dribs and drabs when we were the only people there. I tried the cutlets and blue cheese croquettes and saganaki and they were all tasty. The younger people tried the parma and burger ad again they were quite good. If Blacksheep wants to do well it needs to have a kids menu and a wine list. Motorino a few doors up is a gold mine and knows the business Blacksheep you can learn from them!
