Model City Tap House - Kingsport

While driving back to Asheville from Kentucky, I was pursued by a line of storms the entire way. They finally caught up to me in Kingsport, so I made a stop at Model City Tap House to find some shelter from the storm. To my surprise, the power went out shortly after I arrived, but the taps were still functioning, so they continued to serve drinks. Once the rain passed, I enjoyed some time outdoors with the owner, sampling various options from their impressive beer menu. Overall, it was a fantastic pit stop after a long day of driving. I only wish they were closer to home, but I’ll definitely make it a regular stop whenever I'm in the area.

I was in town for a short visit and this place came highly recommended for its excellent bartenders and relaxed atmosphere. I'm happy to report that it lived up to the hype! The bartenders were fantastic, and they had a great selection of brews on their rotating menu. The indoor seating is spacious, and even though we just stopped in for a nightcap, other patrons mentioned that the food options were impressive as well. It’s a fun spot where everyone is easygoing and knows how to provide a great experience. Definitely worth a visit if you're looking to grab a drink with a friend and unwind. Cheers!

This is my second visit to this place. During my first visit, I had a beer, and I noticed that Saturday afternoons are quite calm. However, it was very loud on Wednesday! I brought my wife along this time, and while she was okay with it, she didn’t particularly enjoy it. We started off with an excellent IPA and then ordered the Loaded Beer Cheese Nachos, which were fantastic! We really loved those! We also tried two sandwiches—the Reuben and the Rachel. Both were good, but the Reuben stood out a bit more. Overall, the service was great, the beer was excellent, and the food was delicious. I’ll definitely be back!

I've only recently started visiting this place, and I really enjoy the diverse selection of constantly changing options they have. I would definitely recommend checking it out! They also host live music events!

Great place for lunch with their dally special. Sandwiches are steamed and are made fresh. Also a large selection of regional brews on tap.
