Red Lodge Country House - King's Lynn

It was my 50th birthday and the first week after the end of lockdown. We arrived at 6pm and were expected, which was lovely. The gardens are beautiful, and the scene was set for a really special meal. There was a fire pit with comfy chairs and a small marquee lit with fairy lights and furnished to feel really special; cushions, rugs, tea lights, and a really effective heater! I sat with the sun on my face and watched the sun set behind the Lodge, with chickens clucking around me, then tucked into the most delicious food. I had goats cheese and beetroot to start then venison, which was like butter. The ingredients are local and the portions very good for such excellent cuisine. More than that though, the flavours and the composition of the dishes was excellent. All in all, just a perfect night. Perfect scenery, perfect food, perfect hosts.

Absolutely flawless! From the impressive first impression and warm welcome to what is likely one of the best roasts I've ever had, every detail was perfect. It’s crystal clear that the owners take pride in their beautiful restaurant and the surrounding land.

I had goat cheese followed by venison that was as tender as butter. The ingredients were local, and the portions were generous for such high-quality cuisine. Beyond that, the flavors and the presentation of the dishes were exceptional. All in all, it was a perfect evening—stunning scenery, exquisite food, and a wonderful host.
