Restaurant bewertenWe had a late lunch here on the deck, luckily in the sunshine. Food was good and view was even better.
It’s unfortunate such a nice place to have such a bad service. Nice view and very promising location . Unfortunately the service is really bad . Doesn’t really exist . We were waiting an hour for someone to give us a menu , the staff didn’t even look at us .
In the first moment this restaurant caught us by the view, seating and eating with the Kilkenny Castle in front looks great already, but we were sure to eat here when the smell of the burgers being cooked were came to our sense when we were waking through it. Just like the smell, the burger was delicious, I’m not a big fan of eating burger in restaurants as I never find them much tasty, but this one was amazing, for myself the top burger in Ireland side by side with Bunsen. I didn’t ask but I’m very sure that the burgers are cooked in the bbq, because the taste was unique. The portion of fries was very generous and it was very crispy as well. Meal for two with two soft drinks was 35€, great price for the amount and quality of food the amazing view that you will enjoy during your meal. If you are going to Kilkenny by train, it is not more than 10 minutes walking from the station, so if you are hungry when arriving, it is a great place for your first stop. The service was very quick and the covid-19 guidelines were being followed with no issues.
We sat down at a dirty table (self seating requires you rush over when someone gets up). Nobody ever came by to clean it. We had to get our own menus. We very politely asked for service and then another member of our party very kindly asked if we can place an order. Not one person came to greet us or let us know they’d be with us in a minute. We sat without being greeted for 20+ minutes before just leaving. We went a cross the street to Matt The Millers and had a fantastic meal!
I had a most beautiful cheese and ham toastie and coffee at 5 pm Thursday 23d May. with my friend Stephen. It was a lovely experience, and such a lovely unhurried young girl who served us so beautifully. Your riverside restaurant is on par with any similar balcony restaurant in the world, and I loved the ducks munching at the Castle wall acress the River Nore.
