Restaurant bewertenWe stayed here on the way from Dallas back to Alabama. They had some of the best brisket and probably the best ribs we ever had! You don't have a menu, but the staff will tell you what they have. The list today included sausage, brisket and ribs. There weep several sides and we had the beans and potato casserole. Everything was hot, fresh and delicious. It's a little of the Interstate, but worth the stop! The peach bull was also fantastic. We will be back!!!
If you are any where near the Country Tavern and you are not a vegetarian you definitely should stop in. This is some of the best barbecue around and is worth a drive. I live in Minnesota and no matter how good the barbecue is, it's not worth the drive from Minneapolis BUT I am originally from Texas and my mom and dad grew up in East Texas not far from the location of the Country Tavern and when I visited them we always made the trip. The divey ambience goes perfectly with the food. I would advise trying the ribs, brisket, and sausage. After finishing of a serving of these I don't have room for anything else. I have eaten a lot of southern style barbecue pork in the Carolinas and I am probably prejudiced but in my opinion nothing compares to authentic Texas barbecue. I wish I had some right now. Go there and remember YOLO
Well this was one best places to get ribs! Went there today to get a three meat. Walked out with two ribs a small portion of brisket and a whole bunch of sausage. The ribs were dry and tough on the outside. The brisket was good. The sausage had a weird taste. Is this the beginning of the end for one of the best places to head some of the best ribs, it’s kinda looking that way not only that, but it took almost 25 minutes in a place that didn’t have that many people in it but I can’t say the waitresses were eating good
I rated this restaurant a C- . As for as a Pub atmosphere, that 's not my thing. I don 't go to restaurants to drink liquor. I go to eat. I can 't speak to that. Prices were outrageous. Not enough variety. No baked potatoes, no broccoli, no green beans, no corn, no chicken fried steak (yes, I know it 's a barbeque place, but most have chicken fried steak on the menu, that is if there WAS a menu, which there wasn 't). What 's up with that? How do you know what they have and how much it 's going to cost. I 'd like to ponder over what items are available and the price rather than having a waitress rattle off the entire menu (without prices). I 'm old. I don 't retain info so well. The food was so so. I didn 't like the beans. They tasted like they had a lot of catsup in them, too sweet. Potato salad was to tart. Suggestion: why not half the amount of meat, which was huge, and chop the price in half and add a few vegetables and chicken fried steak to the menu? We will go somewhere else next time. Not worth the money.
Man they have the best bbq hands down ive had done good bbq but this bbq is the truth and my waiter Brittany Fitch was awesome i love her she so sweet
