Carrera's Authentic Mexican - Kaufman

This is such a lovely little restaurant. The staff were so friendly and accommodating. While we were there they made us feel like family. I would definitely recommend and will be back!

I would argue that this is the best traditional Mexican food that I’ve had in Texas. Service is quick, staff is wonderful and the place is clean as a pin. What more could you ask for! Was a nice surprise to walk in at closing time from a long day on the road and be treated with such great hospitality.

We were passing through town and stopped to eat here based on other decent reviews. We ordered queso, enchiladas and a quesadilla. The queso tasted like a powdered formula, the enchiladas were good but as a whole the entree lacked salt, the quesadillas were good but very greasy. If you’re looking for a quick mediocre TexMex meal then you won’t go wrong here. Im Hispanic and lived in South Texas for a while so I have a heightened palette for TexMex/Mexican food and can be picky. Overall it was just okay to me.

Haven't been in a couple years. Not since before my mom passed away. We used to go for lunch all the time. I haven't been able to bring myself to go back because it hurt too much. Well, today's my birthday and I decided I was gonna go. My husband and I just had dinner. Absolutely delicious and I love how Ismael still personally takes orders and checks people out. He does it all. It was a very special visit for me. I'm glad I came back. Now I will be coming back more frequently and cherishing the memories I had with my mom, here. Thank you for a special experience.

They never disappoint!! Food is always delicious and fresh. One of our regular favorite places to go!!
