Restaurant bewertenWe were there to celebrate our daughter's graduation and enjoyed a lovely dinner experience that was perfect for the occasion. The service was courteous, prompt and thoughtful. Cocktails, dinner and dessert were all excellent. We had the duck and the Waygu steak for dinner and key lime pie, cheesecake and bread pudding for dessert. Overall a very enjoyable experience.
Elo, our server, was outstanding. Evangeline's sets the local standard for consistent excellence. Despite being full, the noise level was not intrusive. Often, popular restaurants will crowd in tables to maximize profit. Instead, Evangeline's maximizes a dinning experience with wonderful food, attentive staff, and a welcoming ambience. .
It was good. I've eaten at great restaurants in a lot of cities so it's hard to give this an excellent review but it was good. The shrimp may have been a bit underdone and the pasta could have used a bit more flavor. Otherwise it was good.
Evangeline's had a great atmosphere and vibe, but it is lacking in quality food and service. Every course I had came out cold which is disappointing. The flavor was good but nothing amazing. My server was great, but sometimes it was hard to reach her when I needed her. For instance when I ordered a lamp chop and had no steak knife to cut it, she only came with the knife after I had been struggling with my butter knife for over 5 minutes. I would say if you are looking for a nice place to get dinner in Tuscaloosa it's not bad, but I wouldn't say it's a must have. I think you can find better food in Birmingham.
