Restaurant bewertenAmeristar is a place in decline. The buffet is gone, and with it, a variety of decent food at a fair price. The micro brewery was closed and the place was basically empty. All that was missing were a few tumble weeds. This Cantina was just a continuation of the disappointment.I ordered steak nachos and received a plate of mostly lettuce some kind of white sauce and meat; having the texture of cardboard with and a hint of beef flavoring. This stomach churning entry set me back $20 dollars, plus a tip.The best thing about this experience other than leaving was the server, Vu. He was enjoyable to speak with.Whoever is making the food decisions for Ameristar needs to be fired.
As a truck driver I get to try food all over the U.S and when I found this place I had to try it, after having done so i wish I would have took the money I spent here and put in in the slot machines...it was that bad.
The hot salsa is really enchilada sauce, see the brown sauce in pics. The best thing we had was the $7 lime margaritas. The wife liked the chicken Torta. Overall a 3/5, at least you don't have to drive here.
Missed getting chips and salsa prior to the meal....but otherwise was pleased with the food and service. The nacho plate is huge, so bear that in mind!!
I wouldn't say the food is excellent, but its pretty decent for the price. The service is always friendly and speedy. The atmosphere is not great, it is always noisy because it shares space with a large open area that people traverse and talk. The coconut margarita tasted a bit like mayonnaise which was a nasty surprise.
