Restaurant bewertenPlease remember you are in Hawaii Time and do NOT expect them to care if you are uptight, or in a hurry. Big Island Mo' Bettah is the motto here. I have seen Islanders slow service for people in a rush. This is one of the best eating places in Kamuela area unless you want to drive to the Resorts and is known for decent steaks, ribs, etc.
Being a business traveler, I have had the pleasure of dining quite a bit in major food cities. I would just like the opportunity to say that we have here in our little town a true gem. Waimea Ranch House from the fresh focaccia, to the awesome steaks, lettuces grown right outside this place is wonderful.
WOW!! I was PLEASANTLY surprised at the hospitality we got when we arrived at Waimea Ranch House for dinner, right after the holidays! We were greeted with a pleasant warm smile from the hostess that seated us. I know she is new because we never saw her before, but she was AWESOME. She made sure we had our water filled and always always smiling !! It was a really busy night, but she just kept on smiling and filled the room with warmth.......Excellent!!
I know it is a new owner. It is a place for a nice meal. No views etc. Service was fine. I did notice many local people out for a special dinner. The Ribs where good and lots of them! I see another reviewer was not happy, but I think they have things in better order now. However, it could still be a little slow.
The service was slow and poor. After waiting for almost 2 hours my husband finally got his meal then a while later the waitress informed me that they were out of prime rib which I had ordered!!! Did I want to order something else- and wait and wait and wait- don't think so. No apology, no compensation, no suggestions- just a grouchy waitress who avoided us after that. Then they tried to charge us for my meal- which of course I didn't get!!! Never go back.
