Restaurant bewertenWe were seated promptly, and drinks and entrees came out quickly. We ordered four dishes and a rice between five of us (four of whom are big eaters) and when the food came out we couldn't eat it all. Quality of the food was great, all very fresh and well presented, and portion sizes very generous. Well worth a visit
I went to Chong Yee restaurant last night with 6 of my friends. When we get there we get the table on that time. We waiting for order around 30 mins even my friend go ask them can we order .They just point back at the table.Ok we go back and sit at table and wait wait wait. Finally waitress come to take our order. After that 10 mins soup came then wait for over 45 mins to get main course.****bad service*****We order 4 large rice. They change $35.80 for rice.It doesn't make sense of this priceToo expensive Will not recommend to friends
After reading mostly negative reviews about Chong Yees we went for dinner anyway. This was not my first visit I should mention, but the first visit this year. The food was excellent, the Hot 'n Sour soups were to die for. All the other meals were hot, fresh and tasty. The crowd was a mix of 70% visitors and 30% locals. (Jindabyne is a seasonal snow town for those that do not know.) The one negative was that as it's a seasonal town, staff are sometimes hard to get and often a local friend will help out. I think this was the case here as our server was less than friendly and never smiled. However, we laughed her off and had a very enjoyable meal that was reasonably priced. We will be back, but back knowing this is a small town Chinese restaurant, not Spice Temple or Mr Wong's.
Weather was great. Staff were friendly. After a busy day on smashing the slopes, my friends and I were looking forward to a nice Chineeese meal. But unfortunately, this meal was not only overpriced but very disappointing. The mon gol lamb (a usual crowd favourite) had a touch too much garlic and can I say, pretty average. The chicken with chilli, lemongrass and basil was confusing, not the right mixture of flavours to be perfectly honest. But the fried rice was pleasant - I would suggest removing the peas though.
We live in Jindabyne and i hope this maybe constructive criticism too much onion in our takeaway dishes would prefer much more veges in every dish instead of overkill onion. Otherwise very tasty and fresh!!
