Kay's Spring Garden - Jersey City

Located in The Heights, Jersey city this is one of the legacy places in the neighborhood and visiting the place for the first time since 2019. First time, the rates were pretty affordable but obviously given the inflation over the past 5 years the rates have been increased but still affordable.Being a typical Chinese restaurant, just don't expect a great ambiance as they prefer to focus more on the quality of food! The service is pretty fast as they delivered the food within 10 mins despite giving me a time limit of 15mins.I ordered Hot and sour soup, Pan fried chicken dumplings and Veg Fried rice.Hot and Sour soup: Initially thought it would be chicken but turned out veg. The soup was living to its name though it was a little less hot than expected and had mushrooms, veggies, and a good amount of soy sauce and it tasted good.Pan fried chicken dumplings: Initially thought of ordering steamed but went for pan fried and loved it! The layering was good not too thick and thin whereas I wish the chicken had a bit of spices but I think they had added chives. The soy sauce accompanied by it was good too.Veg Fried rice: Fried rice had snow peas, broccoli, carrot, green peas, baby corn. The rice though felt a bit dry and could have been better. They served it in a takeout box and the box was a pretty cute one!Overall an affordable place to get good Chinese food within the neighborhood.

I absolutely adore this restaurant!!! My family and I have been loyal customers for years! The food is always fresh and the service is exceptionally polite and friendly. We have dined in and ordered delivery, and the delivery is always quick with a friendly delivery person. The fried food is always crispy and never tastes like it's been sitting around. One of my favorite dishes is the Beef with Mushroom and Vegetable Fried Rice (a must-try for mushroom lovers)!

I ordered Chinese food from this restaurant a few months ago and received my order in a timely manner. However, while eating, I found a thumbtack in my food. I contacted the restaurant to request a refund, but they accused me of planting the thumbtack myself, despite providing photo evidence of it in the food and in my hands. They refused to give me a full refund, only compensating me for the cost of the meal, not the full amount I had paid. It appears that they care more about money than customer well-being. I recommend avoiding this place and taking your business elsewhere. Do not order from them.

I strongly recommend Kay's spring garden. The place is very clean the staff are wonderful people, the food is very well prepared and delicious especially the fried food you can tell always the it's been fried in clean oil. By far the best Chinese restaurant on congress Avenue I'v tried every single one on the Avenue and my opinion is Kay's is the best ?. Vegetarian options: I recommend every dish including vegetarian dishes ? ?

From a professional cook's perspective, this place is absolutely solid! Tbh I think this is my #1 spot for Chinese food in New Jersey! They did everything so righteously!
