Restaurant bewertenToo many issues, so here's the short list:When walking in l, hostess was seated, doing something I couldn't see. It wasn't until I started to talk to my fiance that she greeted us.We were seated in the window seat and largely forgotten by the waitress. She only came over to say hi, and never came back until the end of the meal. The bartender and her trainee eventually came over to take our order. Order had to be revised twice because items weren't available. Not the bartenders fault, which is why we tipped her the full 20%.-Flies everywhere-Ordered food, took over a hour to get.-Told by multiple people food is coming, that there's a large party and we are delayed.-The lie comes out when people who get seated 30 minutes after us gets food 15 minutes before us. I ordered medium rare steak, comes out medium well. Fiance ordered their smoked salmon, she said it came out half cooked from the heat lamps.-ordered coffee with creamer and sugar, only gets coffee
A great find on our visit to Jersey!Great drinks and great service! The atmosphere is amazing with a hint of old school.
Please note that this is only a review of the drinks, atmosphere, and service. I did not try the food. It's a great date spot if you're looking for drinks and conversation. Calm, comfy, cozy. The mezcal and tequila-based cocktails were phenomenal, service was prompt and friendly, prices were reasonable. Be sure to check out the small upstairs bar if you can get a seat if you want an even COZIER experience. Would definitely recommend for a laid back date or an after-work drink. May go back to try some of the food
Overrated place. Disguised as a local vibes place owned by a coporation. None of drinks are super impressive and are not well made. I am an avid espresso martini drinker and their had too much foam and never found a good balance. The food selection is nothing to be happy about and very small portion. Staff is decent. Service is somewhat slow. Like the majority of the restaurants in downtown Jersey City, overpriced medicore food and standard cocktails.
Enjoyed drinks with my roommate before heading to Grove St for some bar hopping. The place was fantastic; although we didn't dine, the menu showcased some truly enticing dishes that I can't wait to try.I opted for the GUAVAtanamera, which was exactly what I needed, not too sweet, not too boozy. The establishment appears to cultivate a vibrant social scene, evident from their chalkboard specials featuring Taco Tuesday Trivia Night. However, when I inquired with the hostess, she seemed unsure about the singles vibe during these events.During my visit on a Sunday funday, I noticed a couple of families and a lone patron. There's a rumor about a connected speakeasy, but I can't verify it.Overall, I'd certainly return and encourage you to do the same. If Ariel is around, let him craft your drink for a fantastic experience. ?
