Regal Fish And Chips - Isle of Wight

Was a little concerned after reading the reviews online but after having the fish and chips and one of us having the sausage and chips, we were extremely pleased with the quality of food. It was absolutely delicious. Never judge a book like its cover. The owner in there was really friendly and this was one of the nicest fish and chips we had had in a long time. One small nitpick is that it is cash only as it caught us out at the start and had to return to get cash.

On Tues the 21st May 2024 at 6,00 pm I visited the Regal fish and chip shop in Bembridge Isle of Wight. Firstly, I was surprised to find no other customers present. I ordered cod and chips x 3 and was astonished that I was also charged for 3 satchets of tartar sauce, which normally come free. On arriving home and really looking forward to our supper I can only say we found it completely inedible... my advice to anybody wanting a fish and chip supper is to avoid visiting this shop. I felt the chips were reheated from at least lunchtime and the fish was coated in soggy batter. We binned the whole lot, which had cost us £25... and we will ever return... we were visiting from Kent and Sussex Yahoo Mail: Search, organise, conquer

Would not recommend, chips taste frozen or recooked. Fish not cooked long enough, batter not cooked enough.
