Restaurant bewertenThis bar is closed. We stayed at the Inn for the weekend and the bar was completely shut down and appeared as if it has been for awhile.
I just read the lone review on this site and was compelled to respond. I 've been to the Woods Inn on many occasions and have never been disappointed. In a word, awesome. The place is beyond cool and I ' ve just booked a weekend for New Years. A review that was provided during the peak of Covid that is harshly critical should be discounted. Covid has been brutal, especially in the Adirondacks where it 's difficult to find help, estimate business, etc. I 'm just happy they have made it and are still in business. It will be my first stay at the Inn and I will provide a review on the other side. I 'm looking forward to seeing the owners on this visit and if they were grumpy while fighting to stay in business and who knows, possibly facing losing it? Yeah, I 'm giving them a pass. I 'll see you guys in a couple of weeks.
We were greeting by the host with I have to let you know, we do not accept walk ins. We had reservations. A $50. deposit is required when making a reservation. We got our drinks quickly. Sat for 35 minutes until I called out to a passing waitress may we have some bread? We were in a lovely private room, with our party of 7. Food was served after 80 minutes. Everyone said it was OK, but me. I was informed that my medium rare prime rib would be grilled. It was medium well, very dry, burned on the edges. The glazed carrots were very good. The smashed potatoes had no skins. I suspect they were instant with some garlic added. Total bill, with bottle of wine and 2 beers, $250. plus tip.
Visited with my family for a late lunch after hiking. We ordered a small pizza, 2 orders of wings and 2 beers. When the wings came out the were absolutely BLACK. I couldn’t believe that the cook would think those were acceptable to send out to someone or that the waitress would think there were ok to put in front of someone. My husband’s were less black than mine and he ate his, except for one that looked like a piece of charcoal. I took mine up to the bar and said I could not eat them. Of course, the next wings that came out were rubbery and slimy, also inedible. They were also $14.50 per 10. At one point I could hear the waitress and the (manager?? talking about the wings. “Who the f* ! Wants to eat black wings!” The pizza was fine. Hot, cheesy. Not nearly as good as they advertise it to be. They comped our drinks because of the wings, which was nice but I literally went away without eating lunch because the food was so awful.
The Bartender on this Saturday night is the absolute worst I have ever seen. He didn’t greet 1 single person when they walked in. Keeps his head down and makes no effort to make eye contact. We sat there 15 minutes without even so much as a hello or I’ll be right with you. What pissed me off is when a couple walked in after us got their drinks within a few minutes. It’s not like they were that busy. Upstairs dining was dead…send someone to help the pathetic bartender downstairs! Customer Service for him is a big fat ZERO. Too bad because the food sounded good.
