Sahara - Indianapolis

Lived in Broad Ripple for 10 years but never tried Sahara until a week ago (actually thought it was a chain restaurant so I avoided). It is actually family owned.... I've been twice in the last week and is quickly becoming my go to restaurant. Service is great. Super friendly. Food is very good and price is extremely reasonable. Today, we ordered the chicken shwarma and lamb gyro meals which came to $21. Both were excellent. Only issue I've had is the fries being a little undercooked which was corrected on the second visit. Again, I would highly recommend checking this place out.

I tried Sahara for the first time today and it was amazing! The Greek Salad and Mensef are both delicious and packed with flavor. This is a hidden gem in Broadripple that I will be revisiting soon!

I love Mediterranean food and this place is a nice gem. I had the vegetarian platter and normally I do not like the grape leaf wraps, they were my absolute favorite. Everything on the platter was so flavorful and delicious I didn’t even miss not having meat. I will definitely be enjoying this place on a weekly basis. Service and food excellent.

I had the Gyros Plate which included hot pita bread, Hummus, Gyros meat, tzatziki sauce, rice, and salad. A very complete meal, and everything was fixed perfectly. No ice, brewed tea, or fountain drinks, but they do have a variety of bottleddrinks. Bottom line: delicious food and a nice ambiance. Highly recommended.
