Restaurant bewerten3rd visit and everytime the food has been amazing service is great and the prices are not to bad. I recommend Darjeeling highly. Next visit planned for Christmas eve.
We were the only customers in the restaurant. I now know why. I had the mixed kebab to start which was barely warm when it arrived. My main was chicken xacuti which was nothing like it should be. It was so salty I had two mouthfuls and left it. Waiter offered to have another one made but we had waited long enough for that one so politely declined.
We occasionally use the Darjeeling but haven’t been back for a while. It was absolutely fab. We selected meals off the chefs Specialites and asked for recommendations. The meals were exceptional. The service was brilliant. Strange to think I was tempted to go elsewhere when I read some mixed reviews on here. I am so glad I trusted my own previous experience and judgement. We went early on a Tuesday and it was quiet. Favourite meal this year.
Should have been wary when we were the only customers when we arrived. Used to love this place years ago when we lived here. Back visiting and came with a friend. Food was mainly ok, but the rogan josh tasted strongly of burnt garlic and would have been sent back had any staff appeared for the entire duration of us eating. Never appeared to ask if we were OK or wanted more drinks etc. Ridiculous lack of customer service. More people arrived after we'd finished and they got served, but the 2 staff were more interested in standing chatting at the bar for 15 (yes 15) minutes than dealing with us. You'd have earned more bar sales had you asked about more drinks. We got the bill, and I wanted to complain but my friend just wanted to pay and go. I was bitterly disappointed at a meal I'd really looked forward to and found horrid to eat. I'd have gone hungry had I not persevered as I didn't get the option to complain. Dreadful really.
We asked for a delivery at 7:30pm which arrived at 6:30pm. We refused this delivery as our friends hadn’t even arrived yet. We called the restaurant to ensure a fresh order would be cooked to later and they said “ of course”. However at 7:30 clearly the same food had been resent! The prawn purée pancakes were like rubber, the lamb chops in a sauce like glue, and the whole meal was just luke warm. If you are prepared to LIE to your customers, then be prepared to lose them !
