Restaurant bewertenLove the atmosphere! Saturday night after the symphony. They had live music, nice clubby feeling, but not too loud to talk. The waiter was very friendly and took care of us. The manager came by to say hello and ask how everything was. We ordered the pig Bao, which was delicious, and the Cherry Blossom roll, which was also very delicious! I had a cocktail very elegantly served with an orchid for decoration. They brought home made fresh luck cookies in chocolate at the end, with fun luck. A great experience!
This is not the old Tarakaan that some remember. With new owners, management and more important a new cook, everyone who had a bad rating should go back and try it again Chef Rob Frias has a passion for the kitchen he exhibits and it shows. We were blown away with the experience we had last night. Can't wait to go back and try more food. His cauliflower was phenomenal! Wish you the best with your new venture!
Amazing. Exotic. Worldly. I found out of this place when it just opened and brought my friends in October 2015. This place knocked off my socks. The decor was hip, modern, exotic, trendy, unique, artistic and had the perfect touch of culture. The music was great. The lighting created secret. I love the personalized logos on everything. Each SINGLE court we ordered was presented in an artistic manner. Just something: We thought that Tamarinde Pad Thai was a bit too sharp in his spices, but beautiful. The cursed cauliflower I have ordered a revelation. Their sorted mochis were fresh and wonderfully flavored. The house Dessert was just divine. I never like bread pudding, but the texture and multi-layered aromas with passion fruit, basil, almond and pineapple in this... oh my! We ordered alcohol-free roses lyche drinks!! I have many ideas of drinks and dishes that they... I also want to see more vegetarian options in their menu. World class! Congratulations, we are proud to have a restaurant of this calibre in Houston.
Poor service. 30 mins and no appetizer. Sushi rolls were the size of my thumb nail. Actually pretty impressed they were able to make them that small. For minimal cost they could have made them properly. Server disappeared for most of the time we were there, brought sushi and ran off with no soy sauce. Spider roll was disgusting. Tasted like a dirty fryer. Music was loud, repetitive, and low class. Had the ambiance of an elevator. Would never waste my time there again. Sent the food back, and walked out laughing at the attempt to provide an upscale dining experience with unpolished wait staff and terrible food.
This is a great restaurant for fun drinks and delicious food. The atmosphere is kinda clubby and the drinks are fantastic. We went really early so it was not crowded and I recommend going later in the evening.
