State Of Grace - Houston

This is a romantic spot with fantastic food. The new take on classics works well...for example the Bibb salad with pistachios and parmesan. Absolutely fabulous. There is a large selection of oysters which allows sampling of different types. (We liked the AL oysters). Our mains of mahi and crawfish linguini were lovely, the apple tart is divine. Nice wines, helpful and pleasant service. Timing between courses is longer than at many spots, but that does allow one to enjoy a meal instead of rushing through. Quite a lovely restaurant.

Absolutely fabulous food with an interesting menu combining meat and seafood with new and different spices and accompaniments. It is expensive. Brace yourself.

Wow! We had brunch at State of Grace on Sunday and the food was innovative and excellent. Not to miss: the hush puppies (best ever) along with brunch items like the pork belly and octopus meals Milton made us feel like regulars (even though we were visiting from out of town); he was attentive and told us a bit about the restaurant. We will come back for what sounds just too good to miss: the chef's dinners It's a lovely atmosphere too. We may just have to return to Houston just to eat here again.
