Restaurant bewertenThe food was delicious and served hot, the service was warm and attentive, and the atmosphere made me feel like I was truly in Italy! The whole experience was incredibly relaxing and wonderful!
I ordered the fettuccine pasta, which was served with a generous portion of flavorful sauce and mushrooms. My husband had the spaghetti and meatballs with sausage, and he loved it too! We took home leftovers because the portions were big. This has officially become my #1 Italian restaurant, and I’m more than willing to make the trip downtown just to eat here again!
During our visit to the Spring, Texas area, we made a point of having lunch at Lasagna House 1960, a spot we adore. Our connection to Lasagna House began a few years ago when we met Matt Vernon at a luncheon catered for our church, and we've been loyal customers ever since. Their lasagna and garlic bread are simply the best around, and everything else on their extensive menu is equally delightful. They also offer specials created by Matt and the team, available for a limited time, so be sure to check them out when you can! On this occasion, we joined some friends from our Covenant Group for a lunch gathering. There were six of us in total, and my wife and I arrived a bit early. After a brief chat with Matt, we were shown to our favorite corner table. Our server, Mimi, took our order, but we decided to wait until everyone arrived, which didn't take long. It was fantastic to see our friends Tom, Linda, David, and Betty again! We had previously celebrated a birthday at Casa, and catching up over lunch was a wonderful opportunity to share what we've all been up to. While conversing, we enjoyed two baskets of garlic bread—this stuff is fantastic! As we perused the menu, my wife chose the soup and salad combo, featuring tomato basil soup and a salad. I opted for something similar: a half sandwich and soup—specifically, tomato basil soup paired with a meatball sandwich, which came loaded with two large meatballs, pomodoro sauce, and mozzarella on fresh French bread. Mimi took our order, and while we waited, we savored the delectable garlic bread, which really has that undeniable garlic crunch. Soon, the first part of our lunch arrived, and the lunch salads looked amazing! My wife's salad was enormous—definitely enough for a meal on its own. She said it was fresh, cold, and incredibly tasty. Our soups arrived shortly after, and let me tell you, this tomato basil soup was something special—rich, fluffy, and bursting with flavor—you have to try it! When my half meatball sandwich came out, I was pleasantly surprised at its size. If this is considered "half," I can't imagine how big the full sandwich is! It was generously topped with pomodoro sauce and mozzarella, featuring two large, flavorful meatballs. I've always loved the meatball sandwiches at Lasagna House, and this one did not disappoint. The French bread was also fresh and delicious. I intended to be good and eat light, but I ended up finishing everything and quite a bit of garlic bread too. After lunch, we couldn't resist dessert—Lasagna House offers gelato, and there’s always room for that! We all headed to the gelato display case to select our flavors. My wife chose vanilla, while I opted for mocha. I’m not sure what the others picked, but I know they enjoyed theirs as well. My wife described her vanilla gelato as "very vanilla-flavored and delicious," and my mocha was similarly packed with flavor. This is why we love gelato, and Lasagna House has a wide array of flavors to choose from. We briefly spoke with Matt upon our arrival, but he had to leave for a catering job, so we couldn’t continue our chat. He’s always busy, and it’s clear why—Lasagna House really is a standout. Mimi was remarkable, earning a special "Dollar Bow Tie Award" for her fantastic customer service, and we also caught up with Henry, one of the best servers anywhere. It's always wonderful to see him. If you're interested, be sure to follow Lasagna House 1960 on Facebook or online. Every dish is made with love, showing how much they genuinely care about their customers. I look forward to catching up with Matt next time. As we left, it was yet another beautiful Texas day. Despite the heat, the weather was lovely. Now, it’s back to our hotel room to prepare for our next adventure. Thank you, Matt and the entire team at Lasagna House 1960, for another delicious Italian outing. Love to you all, and love you baby bunches, Italian munches!
With all the chain restaurants seemingly popping up on every corner and shopping center it's easy to lose sight of independent restaurants. Today, my wife and I decided to visit an old time favorite, Lasagna House and we certainly were not disappointed. Actually, our food and service blew away our expectations. We started with the sausage, peppers onions appetizer followed by two great entrees Shrimp Scampi and Chicken Scaloppine. OMG the fresh herbs, which are gown in the restaurant's herb garden took every bite to a different level. Our server, Andrea ensured a totally great dining experience.
When my husband recommended me this place, i didn't know what to expect. I had just gotten off work and was down to eat anything at this point. When we arrived i was like alright this is a cute little hole in the wall type of place. The entire staff was extremely friendly and welcoming and i felt like i was at an aunts house ready to feast. When we were sat down the waitress brought over some fresh garlic bread with oil not pictured and im not a bread type of girlie but omg it was to die for ! My husband decided since we are here we might as well try their appetizers and we went with the appetizer combo that comes with fried mozzarella sticks, fried ravioli and bruschetta. The mozzarella sticks were my favorite! They had a nice crunch, well seasoned and cheesy of course. The fried ravioli was also really great and i didn't have a chance to try the bruschetta because by that time our food was already out : which i loved because i was starving lol. Y'all when i saw my plate of pasta i knew i made the right choice of coming here and not Olive Garden. It was such a great portion, super creamy, not salt, chicken well seasoned and packed with flavor. No my plate of pasta came with a house salad but for $1 or $2 i don't remember i upgraded it to a Cesar salad and yes it was soo goood! I feel like that just tied the whole meal together. My husband had the chicken parmagina with spaghetti and he didn't speak the entire meal which was a shocker lmao he loved the food so much he couldn't stop eating. For his meal he decided to go with a soup instead of salad and he said it was really delicious. This was definitely one of those places that surprised me and will definitely be some place i recommend my Friends to visit or even do a little catering for an event. Thank you for having us i can't wait to come back!
