Restaurant bewertenAsk for price and size of the oysters before ordering. they have carburized oysters (menu listed as a market price) for a entree. half dozens, dimens-sized oysters were $16. great taste but hungry, as I only ordered one by the side to go with the oysters. will not make this mistake again.
I often evaporate cajun when the weather is good for outside seats. I went on 31st august at 4 in aug to have a few drinks and a snack. no one sat on tables, but the bar had about 6 people. I went to the end of the bar to order a beer. the bartender sat at the bar. I was polite when she talked to someone. then she came up to get someone else and then looked at me, sat down and continued her conversation. I went to cajun roux. where I'll go from now on. oh, and the sweat is on her because I am a good tipper. lol
My man had a taste for red beans and rice, so we decided to drive after cajun steamer bar and grill in hoover. it was worth the 23-minute drive. I had the zydeco catfish and hubby ordered his red beans and rice, with an salat. we rarely order an appetizer and so glad that we enjoyed this time because we both enjoyed the fried green tomaten. the zydeco catfish is winner. I did not see it on the website, but it is on the printed menu. the court is a supervisor. it is a huge fried cats filet served over a bed rice with a tasteful sauce (I don't remember what kind) and served with steamed vegetables. so delicious! our waitress, catie, was very friendly, personal and attentive. eating was great, but she made our eating experience so much more fun.
Authentic new orleans eat directly in a comfortable environment. everything we ordered was right.
I've been in Hoover for a long time now and Cajun Steamer has seriously made large strides to grow and adapt during these strange times. Their atmosphere and food is amazing! Haven't ordered Mussels anywhere but 30a and they were perfect. Crab Claws and even Oysters were great. Give them a shot!
