Restaurant bewertenHaven't had their pizza...yet. But, let me say this: their meatballs and sauce are to die for. Their burgers outstanding and Turkey club is made with REAL turkey, folks. There aren't many diner-like joints around and this one is pretty damn decent. Wished they opened up a second one in Middlebury or Bristol.
Stopped in with my brother last night, first time going here. What a pleasant surprise, the whole menu had things I wanted to eat. Went with the bean and ham soup, which I had no idea what it was going to be like, and it was a most pleasant surprise, very, very tasty. I'd come back for the soup alone; do you know how difficult it is to find good soup? Had the fried haddock and mac/cheese. In Florida they had (before hurricane) a little shanty that served fried grouper, off the boat all you can eat, which was heaven. This fried haddock was just a good, very light, flakey cooked perfectly. I can understand why my brother drove by all these other restaurants and went here. A true delight.
This family run restaurant never disappoints. I have been to Greece and still this is the best Greek Salad anywhere. Authentic and always served with a smile.
If I could rate this negative stars I would. After going to the CVU craft fair and supporting local artists we worked up an appetite and decided to try this place. We waited to be seated and there was a round booth where we were seated as soon as we sat the waitress had an attitude and said are you going to want to order drinks? She quickly got our drinks and we were looking over the menu as we have never visited this establishment before so we asked for a few more minutes as we didn't have time to look at the menu, we asked if we could put in an appetizer she said she had to put all the food in at the same time and we said we still needed a few minutes she started huffing and had an attitude and walked away. When she came back we asked about the special and said we wanted the grilled cheese with tomato soup she then snapped back and said that it was grilled cheese with tomato and what soup did we want, after her attitude, I wanted to leave, so we paid for our drinks and left. You would think that after Covid and how it had shaken the restaurant industry that any new or returning patrons would be appreciated for supporting their business especially what the craft fairs bring to these communities! If you were overwhelmed by the volume of patrons maybe close the dinning room to walk ins so you can catch up on those serving!
I brought the whole family (13) recently, the best hot turkey sandwich, Mama Nick knows how to cook a good home cooked meal. Hope to go at least once a week, even the grandchildren love to eat there.
