Restaurant bewertenMy experience at this restaurant truly feels like a fever dream. When my wife 's salad was brought to the table all I could do was burst into laughter. The ingredients of this salad contained: a few scraps of lettuce, one slice of a red bell pepper, shards of carrots (they were cut, that was a nice touch), a single beautiful slice of a cucumber, one smushed cherry tomato, one slice of red onion and finally a healthy serving of ranch dressing. Truly epic. When the salad course had ended our waitress (a cheerful young blonde girl she was excellent) brought out our main course. My wife was brought overcooked spaghetti served over a plate of red water and two large meatballs. The meatballs were an extremely unusual consistency similar to that of baby food but far stickier shaped into round balls, but what was most perplexing was their seafood like flavor. Extremely unusual and very different to anything that 's ever entered my mouth. This restaurant is clearly aiming to stand out. Next I 'll describe my Gyro slices of meat containing strange cartilage like pieces. The dish also included a few large pieces of tomato and red onion covered in an amazing amount of sour cream. I can 't put into words the amount of sour cream on this gyro. The coffee was fine and my water had plenty of ice! I can only imagine that the reason this restaurant closes at 8pm is because there is a toddler in the kitchen cooking on the line and he needs to get home before his bedtime on a school night.
What I wish to say about this establishment I truly could not put into words, but I 'll give it a good shot. the service was fine, though the food was another story. I have been a spaghetti and meatball connoisseur since teeth prodded out of my gums and I can say this is the first noodle and meat soup I 've received. There was at least a half of a cup of water in my bowl. I was honestly shocked and appalled and impressed at the lack of eyes that were laid upon my dish before it landed on my table. Because surely! Even two would have spotted the atrocity that was on that plate. I poured out the water and began to accept my fate before I stuck a fork into that meatball, which was not cooked. It was mealy and sticky and I think it moved. If you had blindfolded me and put a gun to my head and told me to correctly guess what that meatball was made of, I would be dead. It was suspiciously fishy and I was not In the mood for seafood. I would have not finished my wonderfully rinsed noodles if I wasn 't as hungry as I was. The noodles were finely overcooked at least, and I am happy with that. But for my salad? Although fresh veggies were provided, I nearly got stiffed on a party sized portion . It included a singular slice of cucumber, a tomato that I don 't doubt was punctured by the child 's hands that made my spaghetti. A baby carrot shaved and about four pieces of lettuce. Oh! I won 't forget! A slice of onion. Very tasty, if I only had a third bite.
We get pizza for the family here at least twice a month and it's great. It reminds me of the pizza my parents brought home growing up. Family owned and family friendly. All the staff is kind and attentive. Great local spot with more than pizza if they have many other tasty options as well.
Haven't had their pizza...yet. But, let me say this: their meatballs and sauce are to die for. Their burgers outstanding and Turkey club is made with REAL turkey, folks. There aren't many diner-like joints around and this one is pretty damn decent. Wished they opened up a second one in Middlebury or Bristol.
Stopped in with my brother last night, first time going here. What a pleasant surprise, the whole menu had things I wanted to eat. Went with the bean and ham soup, which I had no idea what it was going to be like, and it was a most pleasant surprise, very, very tasty. I'd come back for the soup alone; do you know how difficult it is to find good soup? Had the fried haddock and mac/cheese. In Florida they had (before hurricane) a little shanty that served fried grouper, off the boat all you can eat, which was heaven. This fried haddock was just a good, very light, flakey cooked perfectly. I can understand why my brother drove by all these other restaurants and went here. A true delight.
