Restaurant bewertenGreat food, great service and great family atmosphere. Located in downtown High Point, since 1972. We went there to catch a quick bite, and was so very pleased with everything there, the owner and the waitress there made us feel at home almost like we were family, the food is wonderful, the atmosphere so cozy. We definitely plan on going back again and again. I was told that they provide a really good portion size of whatever they cook and that the food is really good. After last night I have to say that I am glad I went there and gave it a try.
This was our first experience here and we were very impressed! The inside was very clean and we were allowed to seat ourselves. It has that classic diner feel...quaint inside, red leather booths, and checkered floors! Our waitress was very nice and attentive and helped us with our order. We got the fried mozzarella sticks for an appetizer and I got the chicken parmesan! It was absolutely huge! I imagine three people could share it and it be enough food. They gave my friend and I six pieces of garlic bread as well. My meal was only $10, which was totally worth it for the portions you get! I am so glad they finally started taking cards, too. We had an excellent dining experience and will be back.
We had an overall great experience. Staff was great, small comfortable atmosphere. The fried ravioli was delicious, spaghetti and meatballs were good, soda kept getting refilled at no additional cost, portions were big and the salad was good too. Didn't like the garlic bread, just buttered bread with garlic powder on it. Also, the eggplant parm slices were too thick and rubbery. Will review the pizza when we return.
One of my favorite little family-owned restaurants in all of high points. Love their food they give huge portions at great prices. The Waitresses are extremely friendly and polite always very helpful if you have any questions. It's a small little place makes you feel like home
Not Much On Looks, But Very Good Food. 've had this little place on my High Point restaurant 'bucket list ' for a while now, and today we were in the immediate vicinity after visiting a client several blocks away. This is a small, worn, rather dim place with a few counter seats, and a number of bright red booths that lack comfort. The folks are very friendly, the service fast and efficient.<br/ <br/ The name includes pizza, and it may very well be excellent, but this place is really about comfort food Greek, Italian, American in huge portions, at true value prices. The Daily Specials (11AM 3PM) include a meat, 2 veggies, dessert of the day, and a beverage for $5.95.<br/ <br/ We tried the Spaghetti with Meat Sauce with Garlic Bread (No veggies), and 1/4 Greek Chicken with seasoned rice, mashed potatoes, and pintos. Both came with Banana Pudding. The Spaghetti was good, not great a little sweet, thin on the meat. The 3 pieces of garlic bread were excellent. The portion of the spaghetti was massive.<br/ <br/ The Greek Chicken was also outstanding, matching that at The Acropolis Restaurant in Greensboro, which has always been my standard for this dish it was tender, moist, and loaded with flavor. The large portion of well seasoned rice accompanying the chicken was also outstanding. The mashed potatoes and gravy, and the pinto beans with freshly cut onion were also very, very tasty. The Banana Pudding was also nice, with some real cut banana in it.<br/ <br/ They menu is broad. They offer sandwiches, salads, burgers, subs, pizza, additional pasta dishes, and plates CS Steak, Meatloaf, Breaded veal Cutlet, Baked Ham, Chopped Sirloin, Fried Flounder, Liver, and more. This place is not much to look at, but it offers an exceptional combination of quality and value in the arena of comfort food.<br/ <br/ Oh yeah, we 'll be back. Bring cash, no CC accepted here.
