Shah's Halal Food - Hicksville

I need a refund. Food was horrible. It tasted bad. I khuni it was spoiled.

The extra meat is recommended. It is well seasoned. Way too much garlic or onion powder for me, it has a lingering taste in my mouth. I think it's from the chicken meat. I wouldn't order it as a mixed combo again. The gyro meat taste way better then the chicken.. The lettuce is fresh and crunchy as well as the tomatoes. when you order extra white sauce they put it in a packet on the side, which is amazing. Two stars because of the lingering/overpowering garlicky taste and the expected preparation time increased a lot after ordering, it took a while to get the food prepared but at least it was freshly made.

I ordered a gyro with the pita bread on the side. I was charged for a bun over rice (without the rice), and then they added an extra $2 for the pita bread. I've had much better experiences at other Shah locations that understand my order without any issues. It was just too complicated here.

They really need to improve their phone etiquette. I called to check if they were open, as we travel from quite a distance and it takes us some time to get there. The person on the phone responded rudely, saying, "If I'm picking up the phone, it means we're open. Why would I be answering if we weren't?" The Wantagh location is so much more professional and welcoming.

I visited Shah’s Halal Food three times, all for takeout, even though I probably should have only gone once. I returned because some friends recommended it to me, but unfortunately, I had a negative experience during each visit. The quality and quantity of the food were very inconsistent. The service and the appearance of the place didn’t meet my expectations either. It felt more like ordering from a food truck, and I regretted having chosen to eat there in the first place!
